dbrand alienware skin question

I just put on the palmrest for the 15r3, and i had a heck of a lot of trouble making it flat. There always seemed to be at least one area after I put most of it on that wanted to be a mountain. Is that supposed to happen?

 

Now the mountains are in the little top strip that you first use to orient the skin correctly. Also, in order to get to this stage, I had to apply it bottom-first instead of top-first, aka putting on the bottom portiion first.
