Hey guys, I have a i7-4790k not OC'ed cooled by a corsair h110i GT thats running too hot, like im talking about 90° just from a random mm match of cs:go on 40% load. Yeasterday my pc just rebooted on its own while playing cs:go ( pretty sure couse of temps)

Paste was changed somewhere around january, pump running on performance mode with fans at 90%, and idle temps are around 35°. My room temp is between 21°- 23° (69.8F-73.4F)

Does this mean i need to change the thermal paste or maybe the water cooler is dieing?

I think your Motherboard is Overclocking the CPU by itself.

Look around in your BIOS and check if anything like that is enabled.

Make sure your CPU cooler is correctly seated on the CPU. Its possible that it may not being making proper contact.

How much and what kind of thermal paste did you use?

Can you check what frequency is it running on?

Last time the paste was changed i took it to a IT service so dont really know what paste they used.

Freq is running at 3.96GHz

How much Voltage does it consume?

Its the crappy tim intel uses inbetween the cpu die and the heatspreader.

It could also be what Bob116 said but i doubt that it's this terrible. At least i hope it isn't the case.

Fire up something like an Aida64 stress test or like Cinebench for a little bit (30 seconds or so) just so the Voltage goes up because this is just idle voltages.

Could you post a screenshot of CPU-Z while running cinebench? I'm kinda lost with all these Voltages. Honestly not sure which is supposed to be the Core Voltage.

Spoiler

Here it is

Huh? I highly doubt that 1.070V is the highest it goes. I'd try a stress test with Aida 64.

The reason why i'm asking this is to see how high do the Voltages go because it could be going higher than needed therefore produce much more heat than it has to.

@Andrei666 Well i don't know what could cause this honestly.

Did it run this hot before?

It did during the summer, but then i had like almost double the temp in my room so i just moved the pc into my garage and it went cool again, tho id need to clean it at least once a week couse of dust.

Im hontestly thinking it might just be the water cooler itself. You know..things break just after their guarantee is gone xD

Did you clean the radiator as well?

Well yeah it could of course be the cooler itself.
