Question about interfaces and DAWs

Hi, I recently got an AT2020(XLR) and an audiobox USB. The problem is that if I want to use the microphone on my PC I need a DAW(studio one 3, in this case), which takes control of my sound card and makes me unable to use my mic for anything other than recording inside the DAW itself... The problem is I want to be able to use the mic for other purposes such as calling friends and playing games and such. So is there a way to bypass the DAW and essentially make the interface just a phantom power supply? Thanks

You should be able to see the inputs to the interface from within windows' own audio settings. If you go into playback devices it should appear as either a stereo input or as two separate mono inputs (you may be able to configure this from the interface's software/driver).
