Hello!

I recently bought a celeron g3930 processor and I have a z170-e motherboard. Will they work? and if no, are there any way to make it work without buying a new motherboard?

Make sure you have the most current bios update and it should work.

You need to be able to boot the motherboard.

So I need to put in a cpu that will work and start it up and then dowload everything. And when thats done I can move the clerion one in?

Correct.  In order to update the BIOS you need to be able to get to either the operating system or the Bios with a CPU installed.  Good Luck!

Not necessarily, sometimes the 170 boards ship with an updated BIOS, try booting on it, if it doesn't work then you'll be stuck doing exactly what you mentioned in the comment I quoted.

Take a Skylake chip to the 170 board, update BIOS

omg... this is going to be a long night...
