I've been using a set of Sennheiser HD 6XX Headphones for quite a while now. I've been using them with the on board audio on my motherboard and was hoping to get a amp/dac combo to help improve the sound as I would like to really squeeze every last ounce of sound quality I can out of these headphones without spending tons of money. Right now I'm currently looking at getting a Schiit Vali 2 with a Schiit Modi 2 and was wondering if that would be sufficient to power the HD6XX's with some pretty good sound without spending more money. Any opinion is appreciated thanks!

You could go with a Schiit Stack if you want, if your budget is smaller then a Micca Origen+ would be a good option as well. Very versatile DAC/AMP.

I have both a Schiit stack and a Micca Origen+, use the Micca Origen more often.

What's your budget?

Roughly 200USD (still got shipping after that so). But my question now is is the Schiit Stack that much better then the Micca Origen+ when were looking at price to performance? Because if the Micca Origen+ can still deliver fairly good performance for its lower price tag then that sounds splendid. Not too experienced myself with DAC/AMP's.

From what I remember they both sound fairly the same to me but it's been a while since I've hooked up my Schiit stack.

I find the Micca Origen+ to be more versatile, watch that review video and you'll get a good idea what it's capable of.

Alright, Micca Origen+ is looking pretty good. I think I'll go with that, saves me a lot of money and I quite like some of those features. Just to confirm, I would need the Micca Origen+ and it's 5V converter thingy and I'd be basically good to go?

5V converter cable only if you have trouble driving some headphones, it'll be extra power.

The Micca Origen powers my HD600s just fine without one.
