Some simple C# questions (windows forms)

1. Can I set a .gfx (animated picture) as the program's background picture? And I only want that .gfx to play the animation ONCE when the user starts it up. No loops.

2. I set form border style to none and did a minimize/maximize to taskbar stuff but there's no animation. How do I give it an animation?

3. HOW do I hide title completely from active form? When I maximize form from taskbar I can see the title text of the form pop up on the upper left corner of my form for a moment and it's annoying. How can I remove that? But I want to keep the name on the taskbar itself so the user know what application it is.

I would suggest perhaps using a GIF instead .

 

You could create a Form with a PictureBox which you can then try to put a GIF into.

But doesn't gif automatically loop?

You can just Set up a Form which stays open for however long you want and then closes.

This would involve using the StopWatch class.

But adding a new form increases cpu/mem usage. Btw I think I can create gifs which do not loop. I'll check it out.

Not substantially. It's only a deal breaker if your program is highly performance sensitive such as a benchmark or game.

Yeah true, I only want to create a launcher which reads/writes from files, connects to remote server to download patches and then start up a game executable. 

 

Ok thx I'll try this new form thing if I can't make a non-loop gif.
