why cant I overclock my GPU?

I recently tried to overclock my GPU and it kind of worked but I was getting constant crashes every day and the overclock was only 50 mhz on the gpu core and 60 mhz on the memory. Anyone know why this would be happening and how to fix it? My card is a sapphire radeon HD 7770.

Update drivers etc... or if that doesn't work and you want to overclock, get a new GPU

Mess around with the voltage, and check out some utube videos, will help.
