I own a galaxy s6 and the battery runs out way faster than it should i tested this buy leaving my phone unplugged over night at 61% when i woke up it came to 38% powersaving was on and the brighness was below 40%

I calculated how much 1 % would last in screen on time and after doing that apparently on 100% the phone would last 2 and a half hours. I think this is not normal. Ive alse downgraded from nougat 7.0 to marshmallow and used a custom lancher called nova to save battery but it only seems to help little

Was this a sudden change or was this a gradual change? Also how long have you owned it?

That tends to happen on older phones.
Factory reset the phone, and that should help a lot.

if you're still not satisfied with the battery life, then buy a new phone.

Then it most likely is that the battery is old. If the s6 has a removable battery (No clue, and too lazy to search it up), then you could replace it.
