Well, probably next year I'm going go upgrade my setup, so I wanted to know if going with Intel or AMD.

 

My main goal is programming (C,C++, JAVA, PYTHON, that stuff) as I'm currently studying it.

Encryption also as I'm interested in that.

So, which one is better to code, compile and work with these languages?

(Some casual gaming maybe possible (don't take it as a variable for choosing).

 

Also, 16gb RAM is okay?

Do I need a good mobo? (Indirect question if i'm going to need overclock) / Z370 INTEL / X370 AMD /

 

Hope you can answer which one is better for that task :D

If basic productivity and light gaming is your workload, get a Coffee Lake i3. They're quad cores and more than capable, for around $120 and should be readily available next year.
