Here are my ideas.

I currently have a 4790k based system I use to game and stream on. I have a 2600(OEM Dell motherboard) based system I use as a FreeNas for redundant photo backup for my wife's business and a Plex server. I am planning to upgrade my personal rig to an 8700k which then leaves me enough hardware to upgrade my NAS and or make a streaming machine.

Current Parts:

4790k

Z97 Maximus 7 Formula

32gb DDR

Corsair RM1000 80+ Gold

Current FreeNas Server:

2600 (none k)

OEM Dell XPS8300 Motherboard

16gb DDR

Corsair CX450 80+ Bronze

I am already at the bare minimum for the recommended amount of ram on my FreeNAS build for my storage amount (2 - 3TB in raid 1 and 5TB for Plex). The server is also running on an OEM Dell XPS 8300 motherboard which is probably a ticking time bomb. The system is at least 5 years old. I also have a spare Corsair HX850 80+ Gold power supply and NZXT H440 to hold a 3rd system.

My original thoughts were to turn the 4790k into a Windows based system and purchase a capture card. Use it for my plex, network storage for my wife and stream from it. But I am not sure if there is enough processing power to do all 3 at the same time if need be. I also would like to switch my Plex server to a windows machine strictly from the fact the FreeNAS plugin is 3rd party supported and could end at any time. I would like to retire the 2600 system from 24/7 duty due to the motherboard quality. So I could in theory just use the 4790k system strictly as a server and then use the 2600 system for streaming as needed, but would like to eliminate having 3 systems if possible.

I am open to any thoughts or suggestions, thanks in advance.
