So I am interested in picking up some of those new phanteks halos fan frames, but I don't have a motherboard with asus aura (or any equivalent). I was curious if I could control them in any way and if phanteks sells some sort of way for me to control them using a module or something of that sort? Thanks in advance!

The phanteks halo units not lux since it can interface with aura sync are going to operate the same as the SMD 5050 LED strips so you can get cheap RGB LED controllers and wire them up to it using the phanteks adapter.

More specs? You might be able to use an NZXT Hue+ or Corsair hub if the voltage is the same

I do have NZXt hue+ with a spare port, but I dont know if it will work in the software. I have an asus h170 pro gaming motherboard and an asus strix rx 480. I have the hue+ lighting kit and the cryorig h7. So I dont have any asus aura except for the graphics card, but thats no help because it doesnt have a header.

For example these should work I don't see why the system for that would be any different.

No the hue+ will not work since they use an addressable LED system which the Halo units are just regular analog RGB from my understanding.
