Hello there, I have a problem with my computer. I unplugged everything to clean it, and I also added a fan on the front, and two adaptors so as to mount my ssd drives on the side of the case. When I pushed the button I heard a popping sound and then smoke The computer wasn’t turning off so I run to unplug everything.

The service of the shop I bought it from told me that the ssd was burnt for some reason and everything was ok. However I don’t trust them at all. I took the computer home and it was stuck in the bios. It couldn’t boot.

The told me that the second ssd that I had for cache files had probably the bootloader. Second I couldn’t load the boost profile provided from Asus on the start of the bios settings, and I wonder if this is an indication that it cannot draw proper power from the psu.

Anyway is there any way to fix the bootloader file without formatting my ssd and loosing all my files?

 Thanks in advance,

First it sounded like a psu issue, but seasonic flagships are usually not that prone to capacitor failure, which it most likely is, it could be some caps on the motherboard that are no longer working, im not sure though. The loud pop was a capacitor blowing, and an ssd doesnt have any capacitors, i think.

Maybe a piece of debris fell inside the psu when you cleaned it or something.
