Is this RAM usage normal?

Freezanator

I recently got myself the OnePlus 5 in the 64 GB configuration with 6 GB of RAM. Now, many have said that 6 GB and even 8 GB on the higher end model is well over enough RAM for normal use. However, after exiting Real Racing 3 to watch some videos on YouTube, check a few messages and return back to the game, it has to reload from scratch (not always, but pretty often) which really annoys me since everyone says 6 GB of RAM is excessively ridiculous. Curious, I went into CPU-Z to check how much available RAM I have after closing all apps and to my surprise, I've only been allocated around 25% to use! What is eating up the rest of the RAM or is it just normal for Android to take up so much RAM? Any explanations or solutions to this problem is greatly appreciated, thanks! ?

Correct me if I'm wrong but there's a place in the settings where you can view what's using how much memory.

You're right. I've checked there as well and it reads 73% memory used.

Yeah, but what is using it? Maybe your phone is caching frequently used apps or something.

And the highest RAM usage award goes to...

GOOGLE CHROME?!

I honestly thought it was more optimized on smartphones. Guess not...

But as you can see, Chrome isn't alone. So many other apps are consuming hundreds of MB of RAM in the background. What can I do about it?

3 hours is the lowest it can go. I can get real time readings from CPU-Z, though.
