Too long boot up times

slanensis

Hello guys,

Some 2-3 weeks ago, my brother was moving files over from his SSD to his USB and back to his laptop that he took to his uni at England. After that, my PC took really long boot, like 20 minutes or something. Normally, I press the power buton and after 5-10 second, it would be already asking me for my password. Right now, I press the power button, leave the room, go for a dump or what not, and hopefully it will be booted.

I honestly don't know where to start with this. I Reset CMOS 2+ times, I reset windows, and then I disabled almost all startup apps, I just don't know what it is.

Any help you have?

I can't seem to think of anything.

Thanks a lot!

Other than Windows being a steaming pile of ass, nothing really comes to mind.

Well obviously you expected it to work for an extended period of time, but we all know how "good" Windows is at doing that. ;)

This install of windows is 3+ years old

I cannot completely reset this PC. Sooo many edits and botches on that registry and the CMD, all the files, folders, picrtures...

I'll die if i have to refresh my whole PC ;(
