CripDawg

Wondering wether the

Sapphire Radeon R9 270X Boost OC 4GB is better than the XFX 7970 3GB as the 7970 costs more than the 270X but had less memory

Uhh the 270x is NOT better than the 7970. The 7970 is a r9 280x. The 280x is literally a rebrand. 7970 is better.

The 270x is a 7870 rebrand. The 280x is a 7970 rebrand. so 7970 > 270x

7970 if cheaper than a 280X, otherwise don't, the 270X is a good card, but it doesn't match the 7970.

7970 and 270x are in pretty much an entirely different price range. 7970 performs better and is about $280. 270x doesnt perform as well but is about $200.

You put that inside my quote. The 7970 is better than a 270x... 270x = 7870..... 7870 > 7970 The 7970 is the exact same card as an r9 280x. This generation is all rebrands except for the top-end cards like 290 and 290x.

So the 7970 3gb cards have been discontinued and I was going with the 270x http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1560&products_id=26096 willing to spend up to $320

In Australia the 280x is $50 for some reason hitting $350 even though its the same card.

And a 7970 toxic ghz 6gb costs more than a titan there?
