Gtx 780 half broken

Hello guys 

A week or 2 ago i bought a gtx 780 for 5$. The ad said its "Broken", i said hey lets try to fix it..have nothing to lose.

Got it and slapped it in my pc and it worked without any problems. I knew im not that lucky so i decided to stress test it via valley. For about 30mins it was fine then black screen!!

The ad said that its not allowing any drivers to install. In the middle on installation the card freezes. But that didnt happen to me, so i pulled out the cooler and used a heat gun on it and it worked! Again for a few minutes then again with the black screen.

 

Any reasoning behind it. And any solutions?

P.s Excuse my grammer i dont natively speak english.

maybe the owner isn't good with stuff and did not think the card could be easily fixed

Probs the connections inside the PCB are shit so when you use a heat gun they reconnect for a moment and then disconnect again.

^ its clearly not fixed... just bootable but still unstable :P

Guys thanks so much for spending time to solve my peoblem. Very much appreciated: -)

First time, i know the owen method. But i cant risk my family's health for a stupid experiment. Im hearded that electronics when heated release toxic gases and theres only one owen in my house that everyone uses....so yea.

 

Second, i think the best method will be to ask a repair man who has knowledge about these issues. If my repair can be done for cheap then why not!

Prolly cost more than a cheap used toaster oven off Craigslist.
