HCG series are marketed to be continuous, i.e 620w (576 from 12v) can be run at 24/7 without power down/ throttles/ shut down???

CX600, have no mention of continuous power, i.e. 600w (554 from 12v) can run for 5 minutes? 10min? before lowering output to 80% of 600w (554w)?

Should i assume 620w continuous PSU is same as 750w max power PSU? Somewhere i read claimed that continuous power is 80% of its max output.

Modern PSU has 90% of its power come from the 12v rail. Do i apply this 80% rule on the 12 rail, so it becomes, i.e. 554*.8 = 443w actual continuous power ???

If a PSU only has Max power then do not buy because it will burn down your house

i have this corsair cx600m, and i should throw it away???

CX600M is better than the HCG, HCG is old.

Any half decent PSU will be able to output the wattage that it has on the label. And any half decent PSU will output most of its wattage off the 12V rail (CX 600M will output 92% of its wattage off the 12V rail).

If it has a "Max power" rating, it is likely bad. However, I think BeQuiet has Max-Power in their specifications, and a lot of their PSUs are good. They are just being arses and adding a second number because they can, which in turn, will confuse people, making people buy their product because they have stated a figure (for something that doesn't exist), making them look more honest. But that's bullshit.
