Bios updating

Hi I'm very new to building PCs so I messed up and my motherboard needs a bios update to support the cpu I bought. so I am not sure what that is or how to do it? The biggest question is can i use the cpu that i bought to update it or is there no safe way to do that? My board is MSI Mini-ITX H81I and the possessor is 13 4170. Thank you.  I've have had a hard time finding this information.

Sounds like a job for a PC retailer that stocks the CPU needed to update for you. If they do [Update it], they'll probably make you pay

Or a friend willing to give you their compatible CPU.

Practically all motherboards need a compatible CPU to update its BIOS.

 

Though it makes me confused that a Haswell processor isn't compatible with an 8 series chipset.

Thank you. So do any of you know of a cheap board that is campatibal with my cpu and is still that small i cant find one.
