Okay, so I've written a couple of posts on here telling how I plan on getting the Dell P2314H IPS monitor and now I'm just playing the waiting game until it comes. On the receipt it saids that the expected arrival is 4/4/13, which because I'm writing this at 1am it is the 4/4/13, and I'm just wanting to ask the following question:

Have any if you used Dell's order tracking tool (or whatever you wanna call it)' if so, how accurate did you find it, is it live, as in, is it suppose to update regularly? I only ask this because it saids, for the status for my order "work in progress" and has stayed that way for at least two or three days now. I do realise that I tend to get a little paranoid with these kind if things but would just like to hear any thoughts from anyone who has ordered from Dell Australia before.

I see you are very excited about your purchase. I am like you... it's like waiting for a present. :)

Dell tracking system isn't great.. I got things before, and after by a day.

It gets the info from a carrier, so there is a delay, on already delayed system. You can call Dell Customer Service to get more live info, as they can call the mail carrier for you and ask.

Yeah, I am excited about it and am wondering when I'll actually get it. I contacted Dell on Monday just wanting see how my order was processing but figured I was probably be too paranoid so I kind just canceled that request when talking to the Dell representative online.

I think I may have to chat to Dell again if I don't recieve any indication of my order arriving or processing.

Hmm, well that's not so great to hear that great. I guess I be a bit more patient and then see.

Just remembered, the lady Dell rep said she WOULD contact their courier for me to arrange delivery so I'm also waiting for that call. She said she'd do it A.S.A.P. I hope she did.

Heummm.. she is probably new....

Manufactures, NEVER, EVER, calls you back. I don't know why.... it's like a secret pack or something. Ok well in reality, SOME companies calls you back, but it's very rare. Usually special case. So, don't bet you'll get a call back. When you are told they'll call you back, always say: it's ok, I'll wait.

Usually, they'll get it done immediately... or take more time as the person will ask someone for some help, if she or he is new, (possible, the job they work in, has a lot of in's and out's in employments, people dont' work there for long) or, if you are jerk face, put you on hold for several hours in the hope you'll hang up, then if you are still on the line, hang up on you.

 

Assuming the mail carrier is still open at the time you read this, I would call back Dell, else tomorrow, and just act like if nothing happened, and request status of your order. Always be nice and patient, that is how you get great service. These people have a hard job, filled with insults and crazy people they interact everyday. It's a psychologically hard job. So being nice, will get you "favors", like, be pushed to get something for you.. at least the best they can. Of course, you can always have a jerk face on the other side, but such as life. You always have bad apples.

Hmm...well about the call, I just recieved one but they only rang once and for a short while and so I didn't get it in time. However I rang back the number and got onto the call centre onto an Indian guy it sounded like. I told him that I had placed the order on Friday and was waiting for delivery, he got my order number and told me that my parcel could be delivered between 12pm - 5pm tomorrow but the EDD was for today. I really hope I recieve my order.
