Driving force GT not working

So i bought a DFGT second hand received it today was excited to play with it after work, so i started up my pc and plugged it in downloaded and installed the drivers. opened the config etc and tried all buttons and steering, well all buttons work fine but the wheel doesn't calibrate and the gt logo keeps flashing. anyhow i can fix this? tried other drivers etc. also steering to the left is harder than to the right even without FFB plugged in maybe this is a clue showing what is wrong? i just want to play ;_;. PS. steering isn't working at all.
