best controller?

Hi I have a fractal design r5 and it has it a fan controller of 5V 7V and 12V and recently I thought about optimizing my airflow so I want to buy a few Corsair ML140 and maybe replace the current fans, now I heard that on these fans you want a pwm fan controller I don't know much about it I know what it does but I can't really tell the difference now after I buy the fans should I connect them to the controller that comes with the case or connect it straight to the motherboard?
my computer is on at night many times so it would be a great feature to just flip a switch and make it silent but what do you guys recommend and how do I do this?
my controller that comes with the case is not connected so if someone can tell me how to connect it that would be nice (assuming I should use that controller)
BTW if you guys know any better fans (by better I mean silent and maybe faster) tell me I would love to check them out

here's how to make your pc silent at night:

plug your fans to the mobo, and set a fan curve, if your pc has no load on it, it kicks out no heat, and you have low fan speed.

i used to have my case fans hooked up to the controller before, now i just rely on fan control to do the work for me.

Yeah I just realized it after reading it again xD but is the motherboard controlling it automatically?

depending on the specific board, you can even set what temperatures the fan responds to.

Oh ok
is there something I need to do in the BIOS to make it happen or is the automatic controller always on?

it should be doing at least some form of fan control once it detects there's a fan there, but you can always tweak the settings in bios if you find the fans to be too loud.
