mismatching ram?

 So I want to get some more ram and this is the ram I have http://www.frys.com/product/7506356?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG and it was years ago when I bought it and I can not find anywhere that sells it and I was wondering would this ram work with my pc https://pcpartpicker.com/product/wQkD4D/corsair-memory-cmx8gx3m2a1600c11.

Mother board: MSI H97 PC Mate (ms-7850)

 Cpu I7 4790k

 CPU cooler Noctua d14 

gpu gtx 970

They would work together. Ram is very much like hard drives, doesn't really matter the brand and number of them. But you may miss out on Dual Channel Memory features.

Totally doable. Each channel will adopt it's own CAS latency matching the slower kit and the whole will run at 1600MHz.

I run completely different moduels myself, whilst i can't take advantage of dual channel, i still have a inexpensive 16gb kit of RAM now!
