Posted September 12, 2017 Quick question: d5300 with 18-140 for 200 bucks more than d3300 with 18-105 worth it? (only option because of situation) Use case: Travel photography, sometimes playing a bit, maybe a bit of youtube... Posted September 12, 2017 I know my d3200 is the same as the d3300 with the exception of video recording at 1080 60 , and I know that i'd want more than that. 3200-3300 good for entry level , but the 5300 has some growing room. (I will point out that $200 is enough to buy a spare battery, a couple of memory cards, and a good camera bag and maybe some other accessories.) But if you do travel photography, perhaps having a single lens with a slightly longer reach may be useful... food for thought. That is not dead which can eternal lie. Posted September 13, 2017 I'd probably go for the D5300 as its slightly more of a camera to "grow" into. Especially since you already had the accessories you needed.
