WOW performance issues

Rofty

Hey guys.

After almost three years not playing anymore i finally folded and got Legion. The only problem is my performance with the game.

My specs: 4690k @ 4.5ghz

RX 480 8g @ core 1400, mem 2100, 100% power

16gb 1600 ram

game installed on 275 crucial SSD

On the starting area my fps ranges from 30-90 averaging around 40. Garrison my fps is also 25-40. Something i noticed in afterburner my gpu usage spikes constantly (every 5sec) from 100-0% What can cause this? If i remember correctly the game ran much better back in the day when i had a GTX660ti.

Most of the setting is high with resolution scaling 100%, anti aliasing off, ssao off etc.. Shouldn't i be getting over 100fps consistently? All other games in my library runs great.

Thanks!

World of Warcraft has Radeon Chill which is a technology that saves power by limiting framerate when you're not moving the camera. Check in your driver's WoW profile that Chill is disabled if you want your high framerates back.

Report back if you disabled Chill and still have low performance. Also disable vsync and see if there's a framerate cap in the game settings.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here
