Hey guys I decided what im gonna do for christmas and that is gonna be getting a monitor, I want something good for around 200-360 USD and Im looking into ultra wide 1440p or 1080p and regular 1440p, first monitor im looking into is this:

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-G247HYU-smidp-23-8-inch-Monitor/dp/B01N1J0B3Q/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1505077424&sr=8-3&keywords=1440p&th=1

as you can see the specs its a 24 inch 1440p and i think it looks really good and this is the ultrawide monitor:

https://www.amazon.com/LG-29UM58-P-21-UltraWide-Monitor/dp/B01B67KAQ4/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1505077768&sr=1-1&keywords=ultrawide+1080p

I think it looks a little less high quality but at 1440p/1080p i wont be playing AAA games mostly free and some lighter games and im using a 1060 and a i5, so what do you think? ultrawide 1440p or 1080? or regular 1440p or 1080?
(ps Im on a 900p monitor)

the LG 29UM58-P would give the more widescreen feel and its 1080p so your card should handle it ok, 1440p may be a little harder for the card to run so make sure you think about that, if you don't mind 1080p and want the ultrawide on a budget the LG would do that but the more the pixel count and the bigger the  screen the more expencivce it will be plus 29+ 1440P a 1060 would probley struggle to run it in the 80+ fps range, don't quote me on that as I don't have a 1060.

I havew the 1070 asus card running the Acer 3440x1440 and it runs well, fps is good in most games and ultrawide gaming is gtreat whjen it works....bear in mind not all games support 21:9 res

I7 7700K @5.0ghz, Asus Z270-P, Corsair H115i, hyperX 16gb, Asus duel 1070, Nzxt H440

im leaning toward a 16:9 1440p because i dont play many AAA games and i can always downscale and thanks! I figure most free games will have better luck on 16:9
