Equalizer Settings

I recently ordered an Openback Headphone from Audio-Technica which is the ATH-AD700X. I've read a lot of reviews that this will give good audio position on playing games.

It will arrive anytime next week so I want to be prepared on using the new headphones. I'm not an audiophile and I before it doesnt matter much to me whatever I use as long as it produces sounds. Rofl.

Currently I'm using an earplugs from Philips which is the TX1. I use it both for playing games and listening to music on my phone.

I turn the "Loudness Equalization" from Realtek and set the Equalizer to hear footsteps clearly.

Now I'm not sure if I still need this equalizer or should I just use the normal preset since I already have a good headphones? I hope someone who has experiences with gaming and headphones can guide me. Thanks!!

I usually disable all eq and I would not use loudnes equalizer, it might give you wrong direction sounds.

Thank you for your input. I really appreciate it as I have no experience with using good headphones. I set the equalizer because if I dont I wont or have a hard time hearing footsteps with the current one that I use.
