Hey, not sure if this is the right place, but since my Parts arrive either tomorrow or Monday/Tuesday next week, i need some Tools.

Ive been searching for a Magnetic Screwdriver set for 2h now, and i kind of cant find any that are below 20€, is there even a set at 20 or below?

Also trying to find a Anti Static Wristband and/or Matt, but i couldnt find any of those shipping to germany.

Could someone suggest me something good for that that ships to germany? That'd very very great, because im kind of scared i shock any of my components, and i dont want that.

Also you do not need an anti-static wrist band. Folks (including me) on the forum have built hundreds of PCs without them. Just touch your computer case or PSU every so often and you will be fine.

Its my first Build, i'll use a 1080ti, and even if thats true, i just need that for my mind, if it happens i'll forever hate myself for that.

You can take a standard screwdriver and wrap some insulated copper wire around it. Then connect the whole thing to a car battery and you will have a magnetic screwdriver.

Tbh, i'd rather buy a magnetic screwdriver lol.

cost of screwdriver + wire + car (free) + 10 minutes of your time = 4€.

Cost of magnetic screwdriver = 20€.

You will spend 5 times more for the same thing.

Okay, so, i appreciate you trying to tell me how that works, but i just rather have a magnetic screwdriver itself then having to do that. Just a little more handy.

Don't bother with the mat, seriously, the only people who need them are professional builders who work for a company. The tips for not frying your computer is, don't stand on a carpet, don't wear static clothing (like wool) and finally just touch the computer case from time to time, or if you want to be double sure, touch it every time before you handle a component.

Again, i know that, its just my mind is very very insecure about it, and i'd rather wear some kind of protection to be 100% safe. I just need to forget touching it from time to time and it could be screwed. Its just to be 100% sure its safe.

I have a wood floor and wood desk, so i guess i dont need the matt, but i found a static wristband for 7€ so ill get that for sure. Now to find a Magnetic screwdriver set.

With a wooden floor and desk, how will that wristband be of any use to you? You do realise that you have to ground that wristband, don't you?

Isnt like attaching it to the plugged in powersupply going to be good?

Yes, just clip it to the fan grill if it has one or screw a mounting screw part way and clip to it. If you don't have a strap and want to ground yourself, use some solid conductor wire. Strip enough of the insulator off one end and wrap it around a bare ankle or wrist, etc.

Magnetized screwdriver really isn't necessary. A regular Phillips #1 or #2 screwdriver will do. I tend to use a 1/4" (6.4mm) hex nut driver instead of a screwdriver as it is much easier to control the screw. One can use a 3/16" (4.8 mm) hex nut driver to secure motherboard standoffs if that is necessary. Although I usually just use my fingers.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
