Better GPU

Hey gang, i got a few questions here, first I am upgrading my GPU. I can go either way, get a 1070 for around $430-450 and a better monitor down the road (but i would have better future proofing), ORR get a RX 480 for $280 from a friend and a new Free-sync 144Hz monitor for $200. I would spend more money on the RX 480 and monitor but the 1070 is just the card and no monitor, plus the 480 and monitor are more of a long term investment sooo i would be kinda locked in.... Anyways, I would be playing PUBG (finally I can run it), Overwatch (once i get it), COD games, Civ 5, maybe Battlefield 1, GTA V (when i get it), and LOTS AND LOTS OF DESTINY 2!!! LMK what you think is the best option and try not to be too bias...thanks

Would your friend feel insulted if you bought the RX 480 from him and immediately sold it?

you could probably just find someone willing to trade a GTX 1070 for an RX 480.

no actually and i have openly talked to him about him selling it and me selling it. He was originally saying $220 but then etherum mining happened...

Last time I checked, there were tons of people willing to trade RX 480s for GTX 1070s.

just looked on Ebay and theres a crap ton of RX 480s but small amounts of bids, at least from what i can tell. When did you last check? I am not trying to sound mean here, I really want to know...

a few months ago.

look for GTX 1070s for sale, and ask them if they are open to trade for an RX 480.

 

TBH IDK if you'll be able to, but from what I've heard secondhand, it's a trade that's definitely possible.
