New build and Windows 10 help

Recently updated most of my computer, new cpu, mobo etc and now i have a little "activate windows" thing in the bottom left of my screen. I go to activate it but i tells me only error messages. I try to re-enter my product key but it wont let me add accounts and hitting "change key" gives me the same 0x803F7001 error message.

What have i missed?

You need to call MS, tell them your board died so you swapped it out and now your computer is asking for reactivation.

They'll talk you through confirming your eligibility with them and might just reactive you but if they don't just say that it is the same computer but you had hardware failure and changed the board, they usually accept that and reactivate but if they refuse then your kinda stuck paying for Windows again.

Main Rig:-

Ryzen 7 3800X | Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming | 16GB Team Group Dark Pro 3600Mhz | Corsair MP600 1TB PCIe Gen 4 | Sapphire 5700 XT Pulse | Corsair H115i Platinum | WD Black 1TB | WD Green 4TB | EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W | Asus TUF GT501 | Samsung C27HG70 1440p 144hz HDR FreeSync 2 | Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS |

Server:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)

OEM means that a company like HP, DELL.... assemble the computer.

but since you buy it from a pc shop then windows was activated by a OEM license witch cost less but as one problem: when activated the license is stick to the mobo witch mean if you change it, the license key will be deactivated.

so you have 2 option:

1: you use the old mobo for this windows.

2: you buy a license for windows

"You are doing the same thing over and over again and you hoping for different result ?"
