Hey ladies and gents,

before I start with my question Id like to say "hello" to you because I am a new member and I am looking for some help ! I am 27 and live in Germany and a computer geek sinde Fifa 97... haha :)

Now here is my problem:
I have a self-build desktop pc, a new laptop and a dex samsung station for my phone. The problem is that I have only one  desk, one 60 hz full hd monitor (hdmi), one mouse and one keyboard.

I also have one set of stereo speaker on my desk and one headset for my gaming sessions.

Now the optimal set up would be where I can switch between all 3 devices when ever I choose. They dont have to work simultaniously but i dont want any input lags or performance issues.

I have read a bit about KVM sitches but it seems that this might not be the right solution as I just dont know how to connect my laptop or my dex station to it. I thought about using a 3 port HDMI switch but than i would need to replug my ethernet, mouse and keyboard everytime.

So you see, i am lost :( .... any idea would be greatly apreciated.
Thank you very much in advance !

Kind regards from Hamburg !

This post is in the wrong forum, and you might want to have a mod move it to Peripherals or something more suitable for a KVM question.

That being said, I would be more than happy to answer. Here are two KVMs I found that may be suitable for you. IOGEAR and JideTech

It would be very odd for a 3 port HDMI KVM to not have USB ports for sharing a mouse and keyboard as that is the entire point, however, I am not sure you can share rj45. I would use wireless for the laptop and phone unless you want to re-plug when you sit down at your desk. Additionally, by introducing an extra step like this, there will always be additional input lag which may or may not be noticeable based on the quality of the switch. Read reviews, do your research, and pick a model that works for you.

Have a nice day!
