X99\Z270\X299

Would you say that the Z270 chipset is better or worse then the X99?

And is the X299 worth it?

I'm considering getting the i7 7700K or something else... for a new build.

x99 is 6+ cores 

z270 is 4 cores max

x299 is please just buy ryzen or threadripper. much better price/perf, unless you have mad stacks and want THE BEST!!! by 3% IPC.

 

wait for coffee lake, 6 cores on the mainstream for 7700k pricing, won't be compatible with any 100 or 200 series motherboards

Do you know when coffee lake will be released? (more or less)

And if it's a long time, would it not be better to get an X99 now and just get the computer now instead of waiting?

8700K will be hot and power hungry, wouldnt be surprised if it would require delid in order to be cooled properly
