CPU Voltage below 1.00v?

I might end up throwing the stock cooler on my 4690k and using that for a few months, so I'm trying to see how low I can get the voltage on my 4690k down to. Currently I'm at 1.00v at 3.4ghz and I'd like to try and push it lower so I can run the stock cooler as slow as possible, but MSI doesn't allow me to be able to set a voltage of .9 for the cpu core, so I was wondering if there is some way around this limitation or if there is some other voltage I could lower that would lower the core voltage below 1.

I had the same issue with my board, anything below 1.2 ish volts would just default to 1.216. What I ended up doing is applying a negative voltage offset, which worked.

I've ran Aida64 for about 5 minutes (I know, that's not long enough, but I'm going to find the point of complete instability and then work my way up and then do longer stress tests).

Adaptive, override, offset, adaptive+offset, override+offset. Which would I want and what should I set the extra setting to?

I would do adaptive+offset, that's what I think I did. That way your voltage decreases when at idle. If you're fine with it being constant then you could go override+offset.

So, adaptive+offset, then cpu core voltage=1.00, offset mode = "-", voltage offset=.1

 

That would give me an effective voltage of .9 I assume?

Okay, so I'm an idiot. I realized the issue is because I was doing .9 in the core voltage instead of 0.9. So I set the mode back to auto and the core voltage to 0.9. Is there any advantage to using the offset?

I think using offset will result in the whole voltage curve being offset. So say at 800 MHz the CPU is normally at 0.7v. If you set it to 0.9 it'll still go at 0.7v at 800 MHz. If you do 1v w/ .1v offset it'll do .6v then instead.

Also, does lowering the core voltage also lower the voltage going to the iGPU? I'm going to be running/playing games on integrated graphics for the time being, so I'd like to get the power as low as possible so I can run the stock cooler slower, but I also don't want to lose iGPU performance either. 

 

P.s. quick update: 0.800 volts is unstable, 0.900 is stable (at least for 4 minutes of Aida64).

I don't think so, I think iGPU uses some other voltage. Maybe it's GT, but I'm not sure.
