So through a series of events I've got my hands on MSI x99a gaming Pro carbon motherboard and it says it only has support for the core i7 extreme Editions I was wondering if there is a processor out there that would have high performance but not close to $1,000 my research has eluded me so I'm turning to the community

Thank you all and i dont have much of a budget i just dont want to have any bottlenecks I'm getting my components piece by piece and so far I just have a cx750 power supply and the GTX 1050ti so i just want to be efficient

Pairing any X99 CPU (5820K, 5930K, or 5960X) will be bottlenecked like crazy with a 1050Ti.

You can get a 5820K for about $300 to $400 which will be your cheapest option to pair with that board.

Nice, I just did a quick scan and saw $300 to $400 was average but I'm sure they can be had for cheaper :)

Intel Core i7-6800K new around US$300. If one wants inexpensive, this would be the best choice.

Intel Core i7-6850K new around US$360. Has more PCIe lanes and slightly faster stock speed. Would be my choice if the budget allows.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
