Help with H100i V2

Go to solution Solved by tarmacd,

Those fans are not supposed to be plugged into the motherboard directly. They are meant to be plugged into the 4 and 3 pin extension coming off of the cooler block. Plugging them directly into the mobo will not allow the corsair link software to control the fans appropriately. In the configuration you have it setup in, it is possible to run it, but would require more effort. Just unplug the fans from the mobo headers and connect them directly to the cooler with that 3 and 4 pin extension.

Also, so you know it is okay that only one of them is 4 pin and the other is 3, where both fans are 4. It only needs direct PWM control over one, to ramp speeds for both.20170902_043445.thumb.jpg.544df975d246af61dfd06118d27d5755.jpg

Fans connect here

Hi guys,

Just installed my h100i v2 on my z170-a 6700k

I was able to make it work and plug the 2 fans. idle temp is 26 and on load at 4.7 ghz 1.37vcore maximum temp is 72c.

Question : On the h100i v2, I plugged in the cpu fan, but there was 2 other cable, with weird connectors and I was unable to find anything to plug them, neither on my motherboard or any of my psu cables.

What are those 2 connectors for ? Also there is a USB cable that can plug to the heatsink, didn't connect this one neither.

So  in short : 2 connectors from the heatsink that I have no idea what to do and what they are for ? And 1 usb connector on the heatsink that I have no idea whats for also..

Any help is appreciated thx

USB is for control from the Link software. There should be power connector from the pump and then 2 fans. You have to connect all to your mobo headers. the fans to CPU fan and CPU opt, pump to AIO Pump and teh usb to your motherboardUSB 2.0 header

Don't buy Apple M1 computers with 8GB of RAM

The 2 connectors sre supposed to be plugged into the radiator fans, and the usb cable goes from a usb 2.0 header on your motherboard to the pump/water-block.

I plugged the 2 fans in the CPU fans 1 and opt 1

I plugged the USB from the heatsink to an USB header on my motherboard.

But there is 2 remaining connectors still, and I can't find where they go :(

Here is a picture to help identify the issue :

Also, the single female lead coming off of the cpu block, should be plugged into your cpu fan header on your motherboard. This will keep the UEFI/BIOS from screaming at you that there is no detected cooler on your cpu.

I did all that.

Thanks so much.

I am such a dumbass lolll

Thank a million time buddy

Everything works perfect now :)
