Posted August 30, 2017 I just bought a MSI X58 Pro-E and a Xeon X5650 on Ebay and overclocked my Xeon X5650 to 3,8GHz (might try to reach 4GHz at some point) and the CPU temps are alright, but i just noticed that the IOH temprature of the mainboard is petty high (up to 112°C/233°F). Is this temprature alright or should I replace the thermal paste under the chipset and VRM heatsink and even add a small fan to the mainboard if it is not enough? Posted August 30, 2017 Author I just realized it uses thermal pads instead of thermal paste, so i would it be worth replacing those with new ones?

Internal VRM temp is much higher than the one you measure Don't buy Apple M1 computers with 8GB of RAM
