Computer Holding Down The Alt KEY?

MasterLow

Everytime I jump onto rainbow six this usually happens, It suddenly acts like im holding down the alt key when im not, when i press tab to check my scoreboard it alt tabs out. when I press enter it full screens or windows my game. I exit the game and the Ubisoft client from my system tray but the problem does not go away. I try to click on a link for google but the stupid pc stars downloading the link instead of taking me to the website. I try typing the problem into google and the cursor just disappears and I cant type anything. so now im looking up if anyone has an answer for my problem before it happens again. advice anyone?

It sounds like Sticky keys are enabled on your PC. Google "how to disable sticky keys" and you should be able to disable it and remove the problem you're having.

EDITTO - Tho i'm not sure if Alt is a sticky key.

have you tried another keyboard? seems more like an issue with input as opposed to something being wrong with the computer itself

He still has Sticky Keys enabled, it is surely the sticky keys, because i know that most games have the keys disabled form the beginning so they don't get the annoying popup every time they press the Ctrl, Shift, Alt or tab 3 times in a row.

there also are some freak changings in the os while running some tools.

For example I use winstep nexus, because I miss the detachable quicklaunch bar from win xp, while playing for example everquest 2 in fullscreen windowed, so I still have my task bar to run for example a second eq2 or open up the browser easily, then I get down where in the background nexus is idling, it pops to top, I move the mouse away and it's back in the background. BUT "AltGr" is perma pressed. Unlocking AltGr is done easily just pressing it one time.

But this is with the Sticky Key completely disabled.

can you explain it a bit more simply for me please? like a step by step instruction on how to fix this alt problem. I find your comment the most relevant because I also run my games windowed so i can change to my second monitor quickly and i also use nexus dock as well!!!

quite easy... as soon as you are in your game and somehow get nexus to get active, press "Alt Gr" afterwards and all is well.

I'm still searching for a setting in Nexus to disable this kind of behavior. The earlier versions didn't behave like that so it can be a coding error by winstep, which I don't know.

So again, in the game just press the "Alt Gr" key to unstuck that. If winstep gets active, again alt gr.

It won't do anything else as to unstuck the Alt function. So even when pressing it when not needed, it won'T change a thing.

OK I might be extremely stupid at this point but with is the gr button??? I know what the alt button is but I have a turtle beach impact 500 keyboard and I'm not seeing a gr key of any kind or do i hold g,r and alt at the same time?

The "Alt Gr" key is usually right from the space bar.

Sheesh... scammed by turtle beach... every keyboard should have an alt gr key...

then you can try pushing shift and alt, as well as strg and alt together. perhaps that helps in that case...
