you are getting a CPU bottleneck. any I5 on the market will bottleneck a 1070.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

Or at least, low power underclocked ones will. A 7600k shouldn't have a very big impact on the card's performance, especially if you oc a bit.

@sohail14 while the cpu is clearly the bottleneck, this doesn't automatically mean you should upgrade - not all games stress the cpu equally and if you are getting good performance in ghost recon despite the bottleneck you probably shouldn't invest money in a new cpu. If you start noticing poor performance in a few games and the gpu is still underused in those, then you should start saving for an upgrade - but at that point I'd swap out the motherboard too and go for a newer generation model since intel is finally about to slash the prices.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

it still bottlenecks, so im technically correct :P but yah a 7600k or 6600k the bottleneck wont be something you will notice probably. and especailly not when overclocked, but its still there, you just dont have to care about it

Yes, I just get a little triggered when I see statements like that that invariably lead to people buying an i9 for a single 1070 :P
