Headset help

hey guys im looking for a headset for gaming as i am currently using the apple ear buds i think its time for a upgrade so i have been doing some research but have not came to the conclusion of what i should buy a 7.1 headset or stereo if anyone can help me pick out a headset for 50 USD it will be much appreciated.

I had a $30 Creative Fatal1ty Headset for several years while playing World of Warcraft and now Overwatch.  Imagine my surprise when I purchased Philips SHP9500S for $50 two weeks ago.  I'm totally blown away by the difference.  I absolutely love the way they sound.  I can even hear which direction footsteps are coming from (could only hear them nearby before).  My research had many recommending the Phillips SHP9500 rather than the over-rated $100 gaming headsets on the market.

 

I also attached the V-moda Boompro microphone to it.  Works great.
