audio keeps cutting out in game? also causing lag`

hi guys, i just got a 1080 and did a fresh windows install. im finding my audio keeps cutting in and out in game. not sure what the cause is. i5 6600k, 1080, 16gb ram, ssd 128gb, hdd 1tb.

I installed and uninstalled the realtek hd drivers and it persists with both usecases... is the PCMR too complicated for me? lol

What motherboard? What HDD? and when did you build your computer.

And what's your GPU/CPU usage running the games.

Potential bottleneck issue.

troubleshooting steps:

1. try a bunch of games, and see if it happens in all of them.

2. see if it happens in other applications.

3. reboot machine

4. try using hdmi audio, and see if it sill happens.

5. right click sound icon in taskbar, go to playback devices, go to properties for your sound device, enhancements, and tick "disable all enhancements"

i've had problems like that, and i had a bunch of difrent solutions. try these things, and tell me if it didn't solve it. i might be able to give you a solution then.
