Vega AIB or Reference

Go to solution Solved by themctipers,

64 to push all those pixles

assuming a 1080ti isn't the same price or similar.

yes it could get better, it might even beat out a 1080ti in 3 years!

Hey guys,

I am currently considering getting a RX Vega 64 or 56 for my 75Hz Ultrawide FreeSync Monitor, so I can't decide between getting a reference model right now (with the 2 extra games) or wait for AIB Version (Sapphire, or Asus preferred). Reference Vega 64 including the 2 games is 650 euros (reference 56 might me around 550, therefore) right now, what can I expect to spend for a AIB version of those Cards and when approximately will they be available?

P.S. Is it true that Vega gaming Performance could still improve (quite) a bit due to "bad" Drivers right now? (At least that's what I'm hoping for)?

Thanks in advance!

If its anything like ive seen, you may be better off getting an AIB version. They often have better coolers and can cost less

Nobody knows pricing for the upcoming AIB cards.

I would assume that they would be no cheaper than the current reference models.

The AIB cards are coming in 2-3 weeks.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

Wait for AIB, if you're really set on Vega. Personally I wouldn't recommend Vega (with the exception of freesync goodies), but AIB cards will always perform better than Frontier Edition cards.

HEADS UP, THIS ACCOUNT IS INACTIVE NOW

I'm keeping everything else the way it was for anyone who might check out my answers in future, but I won't be using LTT.

Quite set on Vega as I've got a FreeSync Monitor right now and don't intend to Change until there are affordable 3440x1440 100Hz+ Options available. There's no going back to 16:9 after you've played with 21:9 once.

So price might be 500 euros for 56 and 600 for 64 AIB Versions, you mean?

at the very minimum? i'd probably say yes.But it could also be more expensive by that point due to miners snatching up GPUs. I don't really know.

Understandable. I agree, 21:9 is unbelievable. I had a go on one at a tech demo once, and was immediately disappointed that I couldn't afford one :P
