you're welcome

My friend found out it was his hard drive from the iMac.  He is getting his hard drive replaced.

I am trying to help a friend out that has a problem with his iMac.  Recently he tried logging in to his iMac and it was lagging.  Once he logged into his iMac it showed a black screen.  He waited a few minutes for the iMac to load in and it eventually shows the graphic user interface such as the task bar.   He tried clicking his hard drive and other programs; it didn't load the programs or the hard drive.  My friend eventually wipes his hard drive storage and clean installs the latest iMac os.  Yesterday it showed this image as he was booting into his iMac.  What does all of this mean?  Thanks if you can help.   rueHoez5H2x0ceMohZZODXan_V0pV2JsGMxL04ZLoZXnNcy3j76_Qu_xrwFBTTN5nM_CWFyJevmlnJWhkPXflBeOJw4rEbg9vWRqyDwvv3mPPysvVqqL6fMO1RnovGS2o-1RGFkycweFB90cSY5pnrJBznYywGqr0M36H3eUy_xjIEmgnvuF0ttNnPXNMvvj-Ge8ynE6yxPL2Ik71V5CJkd8LAdljEDVpKNum7kzE6C5OCbIE_TpgHC_iwm7Wnotxx75SoIIE6qSz4I43hzJVBzuglEoTc97_0luaKdZT43reGmcrzEEsL26lDZlURPLYFQ-r1UQQztc340fQWY1ow_6WVz0zs0EBkWIbcCbxwSBho7gTDw6qCQJyP9785CFshQ5DIqNGSp6jixPU-QBxd4yoTHPGItiB1yJ8CnkkS01s7cJZNtWolmwRCsWVtL6cJfbX-VW97OvgDFZRSnyzlRDC-kg-RoNXaCX_wAicU1yj1fhveZInHtERj7eZb3JmgWNijidFon4zszHkecZwEtQgvTAscQZ-Q2o757mvvzqibhMEJ4UUoCH14dauCeHo2_5dqRxCEWUXcnKLZlKRCl_pdUgcVc3yG7-z8YhtlFgKJXC9qGq=w1210-h908-no

I had this issue with a mac once after updating to sierra. If you can get a hold of another mac follow this tutorial and reinstall Sierra. If he has a time machine backup try restoring to an old backup before Sierra. If this doesn't work, than you most likely have a bad hard drive or bad ram. Possibly some other component. If my steps don't work, then I would take it to an apple store.

Build:

Intel Core I7 6700k (clocked to 4.6ghz)

Patriot Viper 3000mhz ddr4

ASUS maximus 8 hero (I hate this mobo)

Evga gtx 1080 superclocked

250GB Samsung 850 evo

2tb WD Black 7200rpm

Ek watercooling kit a240g with 360 expansion pack

Primochill Vue Red fluid

Corsair Graphite 600t (white)

You thought "Gee, Donald Trump sure has a great build!"

This might work, if it doesn't, i think it's because you have a kernel faliure, which means, in simple terms... you screwed. It means the os is really curupted and broken, and there is really no real way to fix it. I had this problem on a mac before. Sorry.

Since I am to lazy to put something interesting here, I will put everything, but slightly abbreviated. Here is everything:

i had the same problem before updating to sierra, if you go back into time machine a while before the update it will work. if you reinstall sierra it will also work.

If it was the hard drive, he wouldn't be able to boot from time machine though.
