Hey guys, I have a couple of questions:

1.  Keyboard and mouse don't go well together [partly solved]

So when I have my KB and mouse connected to the rear I/O on my motherboard, doesn't matter if one is in USB3.0 and one in USB2.0 or both in USB3.0, I have trouble getting them work, usually either one isn't working. However, for past several weeks I ran my mouse in USB2.0 on my front I/O and my KB in USB3.0 on the rear, and I never had the issue since then. Now I want to diagnose the source of the problem. Is it something with my MoBo (it's already faulty, top PCI-e x16 causes signal losses and driver crashes)? I never had more than 4 USB ports on the rear filled up.

2. Mousepad getting dirty in an unusual way

I know, I know. Something like this probably shouldn't be in the Troubleshooting forum, but when I asked the first question, why not deal with this as well? I have the Steelseries QcK Mass mousepad. The problem is, when I "scratch" it around the center where my mouse usually is, it leaves a very bright and ugly mark. When I do this around the edges, it stays black. What could be causing this? I bet it's some filth from my hands, because closer examination showed it's some kind of "dust" which sticks to the surface.  The mousepad is made out of cloth so I could clean it, anny idea what to use so I don't damage the surface?

1. Probably your motherboard? Unless you do have too many usb devices plugged in (I think Windows caps it at 10)

2. My guess is that the bottom of your mouse has dirt or the like on it?

I never had more than 4 devices plugged in.

The teflon feet are clean, I would side with my hands not being that clean (Who doesn't eat while using the computer nowdays?). Any idea how to effectively clean it without damaging it?

I don't know how to describe it, but a rough brushing with your hand. It does the trick for my mousepad :D

It kind of spreads the "dust" around, but doesn't eliminate it. Is brushing with something wet OK?

Pretty much, yes. Just don't get it absolutely soaked and let it dry completely before putting your mouse on it just in case.

OK, thank you, I will do it in the evening and let it dry on a radiator for the night.

I hope that radiator doesn't get too hot O.o Don't want to melt your mousepad or anything...

No not really, it has 30-40°C max.
