Grandpa Build. Overkill?

It seems overkill but he is a doctor running multiple intensive programs at once. I also want to do light gaming when I go to his house.

I think its overkill personally, if you want to save a little money maybe go with an i3 and a cheaper ssd. I dont think an evo is necessary for that build xD.  If you have the money though, by all means get it, looks like a nice build.

The power supply is overkill but you will get some upgradability out of it. You mentioned intensive programs... are they multithreaded? If so, a Ryzen 5 1500 or 1500x would be better suited since they have 8 threads, and clock will be about the  same as the i5. Otherwise, go for it if you think its what you need!

CPU is overkill, but the PSU got worse than expected (for this budget) and there's no graphics card (unless by "light" gaming, it means minesweeper).
