Help Make It Cheaper

Is there anyway to make this build cheaper? Yes, I do think that I should most likely get the 1600 and the OC since I can get it for 189.99. Please help and thank you in advance!

Get the R5 1600 instead of the R5 1600X. The lower clock speed isn't a real problem since the 1600 is overclockable. In addition to that you could get the ASUS Prime B350_Plus instead of the strix board.

The only info I could find on the board you mentioned was how many fans it can support total. I think three max but I am unsure.

This board has 1 cpu fan connector and 2 additional fan connectors. But you can always get a cheap fan splitter.

It takes one fan connector and splits it into two, so you connect 2 fans using 1 plug.

A fan splitter is a short cable you can connect to a fan connector on your motherboard and gives you 2 fan connectors.

Get faster RAM. There are 2800 MHz and 3200 MHz kits for around the same price. Ryzen really likes faster RAM

I have four and then my CPU fan which is the evo 212 from Cooler Master. Sorry I probably should have included that.

These are fan splitters from microcenter, you have to order 2 of those if you want to buy them there.

They are actually expensive. About 10$ for those. Since the Strix board already has all the needed fan connectors it would probably smarter to get the B350 Strix and no fan splitters.

 

Keep in mind that you first have to buy the mounting bracket for the Hyper 212 Evo. This cooler doesn't fit on AM4 boards out of the box.

Yeah I have that adapter for the 212 factored into the build, but I do thank you for that. Also thanks for looking on Microcenter for me!

I would get the R5 1600, the Stirx board, the ram, the mounting kit and the GPU. Sorry, haven't seen the mounting kit in your list.  What PC parts do you already have?

Awesome! So get the 1600 with the Strix board you planned in the beginning, the mounting kit for the cooler, the 1060 6GB (1060s are a bit expensive at the moment but there is no alternative except older or used cards) and your RAM. You'll have an awesome PC!

No problem! But try to find faster RAM for about the same price. Personally I got a good deal on 2x8 GB 2400MHz Ram for 88€. You probably won't find it that cheap but yeah.
