1ssd 240gb 1t 

will my old harddrives work in this computer?

 

will the cpu stay cool while i game or must i buy a better fan?

Yup. And an R5 1600 overclocks just as well as a 1600X, and includes a nice cooler (about 212 Evo level, IIRC)

What clock speed is achievable depends on the chip and silicon lottery of course. I agree the stock cooler with Ryzen is pretty damn good for a stock cooler but it still doesn't match aftermarket coolers like the 212 EVO. The 212 EVO is a shit choice anyway but it is still better than the Wraith Spire.

Is the X cheaper than the non-X 1600? generally the R5 1600 is cheaper than the R5 1600X, plus it includes a good stock cooler.

What monitor are you using? A GTX 1070 might even be overkill.
