I was thinking of buying a mechanical keyboard. The ducky shine ii has caught my eye. What does everyone think about it? I'm quite the noob when it comes to keyboards haaha. And also any other suggestions? I would like it to be conventional so with a number pad, and possibly media controls and a back light would also be nice and I like mx browns.

First thing first, do you prefer keyboards with macros or a compact ones? The browns has a tiny bump feedback to let you know that the keys are registered. Always test out the switches you like before buying them. Well, my place here allows me to buy them but it's not returnable. So yeah, find customer reviews before buying them or you can ask some Ducky shine II owners here to find out. Lastly, there is a reason for choosing mechanical keyboards. I'll go for it because of the anti ghosting/NKRO(which you need to have a PS/2 port). Some brands out there comes with a USB to PS/2 adapter which allows you to use PS/2. Here's what I can suggest, Ducky, Filco, Cooler Master. I strongly suggest to get a wired mechanical keyboard because if it doesn't take good care, it will die just like the Rosewill keyboard I owned last time. You can check some reviews on them if you curious. Good luck.

I would suggest checking out the Coolermaster line as they have a huge selection of mechanical keyboards and each of their models comes with each of the main Cherry MX switches (red, blue, brown, black). Also look for a nearby computer store and see if you can't try out some keyboards as well.
