Laptop problem

Hi all,

I have an old acer laptop that has an intel pentium M @ 1.73GHz, ATI mobility radeon X700 with 64MB of VRAM, 80GB HDD and 1GB of DDR 2 ram. Whenever I turn it on, the screen is black and the fan stops running after about 5 seconds. The indicator light on the power button glows green and then nothing else happens after that. I am thinking about using it as a secondary machine for storing files and light web browsing. I have left the laptop on charge for about 3 hours, and it still wont work. Your help is much appreciated. Does anyone know what is wrong with my laptop. Thanks for your help!

Probably a PSU or battery issue. Motherboard could also be dead. When was the last time you used it? Does it POST?
