Hey all, So I'm having an issue with my steam installation detecting my mic...

It started with people telling me "your mic just sounds like wind". I tried voice loopback and setting my mixer volume to 100%... Nothing.

I've tried the steam audio test and it detects that my mic is plugged in but there is no output, I uninstalled all my realtek drivers and got new ones from the official website, still no luck. I've disabled all other devices, no luck, I've unchecked "exclusive control", I've disabled share in Geforce Experience, I've physically messed with the FPAudio connector on the motherboard to make sure it's fitted securely.

What makes this whole issue so infuriating is that EVERY OTHER app and even windows itself can detect output from the mic, Discord works perfectly, so does the "Listen to this device" option...

Please help...

Dylan.

It's a Turtle Beach EarForce XO Four, connected to 3.5 mm connector on the front panel

have you tried plugging it into the back?

That's an xbox headset where mic and audio goes through the same 3,5mm jack but pc's usually have audio and mic separated so you'll need an adapter for it to work on pc.

I should've known :/

Something like this (and plug it in the back)

I'm still having the issue but some personal business got in the way of me replying, I do already have an adapter that splits one 3.5mm port into 2 3.5mm jacks for the audio, otherwise I wouldnt be able to use discord and stuff, I thought that'd be fairly obvious from my original post.
