What to do with older/leftover android tablets?

HunterAP

My family got two tablets for free from a few years ago, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 (SM-T230NU) and the Dell Venue 7 (T01C 3730), both of which I've only been able to root, but there is no development for custom ROMs (the Tab 4 does have TWRP however).

Previously I've used one or the other for light reading/browsing since they have a bigger screen than my phone, and my mom used it to watch TV shows, but everyone in my family has a more powerful smartphone to do all that stuff with.

Normally I'd try to sell them, but because they are A) old, and B) weren't even that powerful back in their day, they won't go for much more than pocket change.

I was thinking of doing something like using them like psuedo Raspberry Pi's but the Android terminal is harder to use than the regular Linux shell. I've also had trouble installing Linux on the Tab4.

Do you guys have any recommendations on some cool things I can do with these tablets?

Rent a slo-mo camera and then replace the battery with a wedge of tannerite and shoot them.

Incidentally, I finally got Linux Deploy working on both of them, now I just need to figure out something cool to do with full Linux machines.

Any ideas for that which don't involve explosives (as much as I'd love to blow things up, I'm a broke college dude and explosives would be a bad thing to have in my area).
