New CPU required?

Hello

I have a 3770k at 4.5ghz with a r9 290 and I will be upgrading to a vega card.  I haven't entirely decided which one at this point but I am leaning towards the 64. I have a 144hz 1440p freesync monitor and I mostly game with a little bit of content creation.

Would it be worthwhile upgrading the cpu/mb/ram to a ryzen 1700 or 8700k or should I hold on till zen+/cannonlake?

Thanks!

I'd probably wait. Get the vega card, and see if you can top out your monitor. If the CPU is a bottle neck, either upgrade to ryzen, or wait for next gen intel.

I would wait unless you really don't like your fps after the upgrade.

Zen plus looks to have a 15% or more ipc upgrade and cannon could be really good as well.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious
